Expo Gate: Milan’s gateway to the Expo
Situated in the heart of Milan, Expo Gate introduces the public to Expo Milano 2015 and forms a bridge between the city and the Exhibition Site. From May 2014, Expo Gate is the stage on which Milan interprets the central theme of Expo Milano 2015: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. Open to residents and visitors, it offers a light and airy place to meet, learn and share ideas. The Expo Gate is created by Scandurra Studio and consists of two modular and transparent buildings with a light form, designed to have a minimal impact on the environment.
The location of Expo Gate is Via Beltrami, right in the historic center of Milan, with the Sforzesco Castle on one side – which was the site of the Universal Exposition of 1906 – and Via Dante on the other side, the street along which the flags of over 130 participating countries are displayed. This location symbolizes the role as a gateway between Milan and the Expo, in the same way as Milan has always been considered a bridge between Italy and the rest of the world.

Not only is it an information point where you can find full details of events and exhibitions, it also acts as the Expo Milano 2015 ticket office, where you can conveniently purchase tickets in advance. The Expo Gate is a place where new experiences are created. It hosts a rich and stimulating program of events, curated by Caroline Corbetta, that offers something for all age groups.

Expo Gate will open to the public on Saturday, May 10, 2014 with a huge party open to all. Throughout May, there will be a program of events entitled "Expo Gate Worksite.” Now that construction of the building has ended, a new, metaphorical construction site will be opened for the design and creation of its program of events, keeping you updated on the development of the Expo Milano 2015 Site.
Expo Gate is open daily from 10am to 8pm
