Milan Days in Moscow, the Two Cities Come Together in View of Expo Milano 2015

From Sunday November 9 to Thursday  November 13,  it will be the " Days of Milan in Moscow "at the TsUM department stores through Thursday, there will be dedicated information point for Milan, where the Italian city will be presented to the Russian public. Expo Milano 2015 takes part in  these days to increase awareness of the in the Russian capital by way of  a dedicated information point corner, where there are panels that share the story of the Universal Exhibition.

The event was organized by the City of Milan in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Moscow and  picks up from the days when Milan hosted in Moscow last May: it is an opportunity to tell the Russina public about the theme of Expo Milano 2015  Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life  and the opportunities associated with the event.

The event opened with , "One hour with Expo Milano 2015" that was held today at the TsUM stores and was  attended  by Cesare Maria Ragaglini , Italian Ambassador to Moscow, Peter Galli , General Manager Event Management Division Expo Milano 2015, Giuliano Pisapia , Mayor of Milan and the chef  Davide Oldani, Ambassador of Expo 2015.

"Expo2015 is one of the principle events of  the next year at the international level and we are very proud to  have an Italian city to organize it. The right to healthy and safe access to water, the development of sustainable agriculture and combating food waste are all essential elements of the strategy for achieving the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations, "said the Ambassador Ragaglini at the opening. The Ambassador also stressed the exceptional support that the Russian government has provided, from the very first moments, for the Expo: Russia was, in fact, among the first countries to confirm their participation. "The Russian National Pavilion’s Exhibition - which ranks among the largest in absolute size - will occupy a central place."

"The Universal Exposition of Milan is the world's largest event ever on Nutrition - stressed Piero Galli after greeting the Ambassador – it  will be Edutainment unique in the world for those who participate through the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”: knowledge and experience, education and entertainment, technology and tradition, past and future, with the ambitious goal of leaving a legacy of good behavior, new government policies and social position to ensure a sustainable future for all. The great response we have received in terms of membership, of national pavilions  and of tickets already sold, represent for us an important acknowledgment of the appeal world that Expo 2015 ".

"Milan, the city of Expo 2015, comes to Moscow to talk about what the city is doing to prepare a special welcome for the 20 million expected visitors - said the mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia - For the first time in the history of the Universal Exhibitions, in fact, the event  will not live only at the Expo exhibition site, but throughout the greater Milan. 'Expo City' will be six months of major cultural, sports and science events, with which we will be able to surprise the world. Milan will be the place to be in 2015 and we hope that many Russian friends can live out this the unique experience of our Expo with us. "

Expo 2015 in Moscow with Foody in a series of events

The Mascot Foody will host a series of events organized by Expo Milano 2015 during these days of events and will take part in cocktails, gala evenings, sporting events and fashion shows and deliver the messages of Expo in the Russian capital.

Up through November 23, the Stoleshnikov Pereulok, the central street of Moscow, will  display evocative images that tell the story of  Expo Milano 2015, its  theme , content,  thematic areas , the Clusters  and the Exhibition Site.

Tonight at 19.00 there will be a gala evening in the Italian Embassy in Moscow, a moment offered by Expo which will be attended by representatives of the City of Moscow, the Italian institutions and the representatives of Expo 2015 Russia. During the evening there will be culinary presentations by chef Davide Oldani who has dedicated a saffron risotto to Expo  Milano 2015, and Maxim Syrnikov , Ambassador of the Russian Pavilion and creator of a Russian dish dedicated to Italy.

On Tuesday, November 11 sports and fashion will close the meetings between Moscow and Milan.  At 14.30 there will be a hockey game between Dinamo Moscow and Milano Rosso Blu and that evening at 20.00 there will be a fashion show where they will be 60 creations shown by young Italian and Russian designers  from a fashion school in Milan.
