Argentina pavilion at Expo 2015 Milano

Theme “Argentina feeds you”

Concept

With its theme “Argentina feeds you” Argentina showcases its country set against a backdrop of national policies that are closely aligned with the central theme of Expo Milano 2015, “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” It is a theme that offers visitors experiences that feed their understanding of Argentina's richness and diversity in a space that reflects four subtopics. The first, Argentina feeds its people, explores the question of food security within its economic development policies of the past ten years based on social inclusion; the second, Argentina feeds the world, describes the vastness and fertility of its land that produces a wide variety of primary products such as cereals, fruits, vegetables, meat, products from the sea but also a wide range of value-added products consumed and recognized all around the world; the third, Argentina feeds knowledge, offers visitors a view of its inclusive and sustainable innovation, that facilitates and promotes research and technologic development, boosting the development of highest competitiveness and value-added to Argentina's production. The last, Argentina feeds debate, looks at the global paradigm and the challenges of capitalism, food sovereignty and equal development.

In this context, Argentina seeks to open debates on issues such as agricultural protectionism, free trade agreements, sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures, global value chains and speculation on food commodities. Contents are shared through audiovisual resources, simulators, interactive systems, multisensory spaces, cultural events and a varied and characteristic gastronomic selection, among other offerings. Articulated through these four strategic pillars, the overall theme embodies Argentina’s power and energy as a developing country that promotes social inclusion policies to relieve hunger, and as a global supplier of quality and value-added food and beverages goods It also captures Argentina’s commitment to scientific-technological innovations for a frank and multilateral debate on future global food challenges facing a billion people in years to come.

Argentina pabellon... Pavilion of Argentina, the Website

Very glad to discover the website of Argentinian pavilion...

Argentina’s pavilion was designed to represent a series of silos joined together, summoning the image of interconnected metallic gears. This proposal conveys the clear message that Argentina is much more than a “repository” of raw materials. Walk into the pavilion to discover a country with highly effective development in terms of value-added goods, which fosters industrialization based on technical knowhow and innovation as the main pillars of equal growth opportunities for its people.

Since its first participation in a Universal Exposition in 1889 (Paris), Argentina has been the Latin American country boasting the highest number of participations in this kind of events; Expo Milano 2015 is no exception. Declared of national interest, Argentina’s participation in this event has gained momentum as a unique showcase over the course of 184 days to show the world the many innovations and achievements of Argentina’s agroindustrial sector in recent years. The Argentine pavilion was carefully designed to be a space to promote trade, tourism and culture as visitors enjoy an unforgettable experience.

The pavilion will host a great number and variety of activities. Companies, provincial bodies and other participating institutions will have specially designed spaces to provide tastings of the best Argentine food and beverages, organize cultural events, share Argentina’s tourist attractions and hold meetings with foreign entrepreneurs and visitors.

Moreover, the pavilion represents a unique opportunity to show the world all the economic, cultural and natural diversity of a country that has consolidated itself as one of the main Latin American tourist destinations.

Expo, The Argentinian Pavilion “producer of food” is presented...

A challenge for the world, and naturally, a challenge for each single Country: the theme of nutrition, chosen by Expo 2015, is universal and the participating nations to the Exhibition of Milan will confront each other and show off their own excellencies. And Argentina, one of the largest Countries of Latin America, presents its own pavilion in this manner.

"Argentina - explains the Ambassador Carlos Bianco, Commissioner of the Pavilion - is the South American State that has participated mostly to the Universal Exhibitions and particularly the theme of Feeding the Planet, energy for life, seems made purposely for Argentina's participation, because we are one of the main food producers in the world."

The Pavilion extends on a surface of over 1,900 meters squared and it will become a promotional centre for commerce, tourism and culture for those visitors who will come to learn about the variety that characterises the Country. Within the Pavilion companies, religious entities, local institutions will be able to use the spaces to offer tastings of typical dishes and beverages, or to organise cultural events, promote touristic attractions in the Country and plan meetings with foreign businessmen. A unique occasion to show the public of Expo Milano 2015 the variety and the cultural grandness of the Country, that in occasion of this edition it chose the concept "Argentina Feeds You".
