History : Brazil pavilion at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair

Crowned with an immense dome, rising 132 feet above the ground, is the magnificent structure which has been erected at the World's Fair by the Government of Brazil. The building is flanked on the east and west by flower gardens which have been carefully groomed.

It faces the Belgian and Cuban pavilions on the north and the Nicaraguan building on the east.

Three domes show above the roof line at the top of the second story, the center one of which rises 78 feet. The side domes are flat and are only about 20 feet above the roof. Beneath these side domes are loggias, open to the air.

State apartments occupy the entire lower floor, together with a collection of agricultural products, especially coffee. On the second floor are the offices of the Commission. Above this, breaking through the roof line, is a light well. 42 feet in diameter, which supplies a view of the outside dome.
On the third floor, inside the dome, is a gallery from which visitors may have a view of the functions that take place on the second floor. Above this, another gallery surrounds the dome on the outside, and a view is afforded in all directions.

Furnishings made from the hardwoods common to the banks of the Amazon supply the spacious rooms, and visitors are treated to delicious cups of coffee produced from the far-famed Brazilian product.

Brazil at Milan Expo 2015, a network of nature and technology

Brazil's connection and integration which has allowed it to achieve the ranking of world leading producer of food is reflected in the architecture of the Brazilian Pavilion, and indeed its "physics" metaphor that is represented by the network. The structure inside its Pavilion is a symbol of unity, connection and exchange, exchange of ideas, projects and ideas around the theme of Expo Milano 2015. In the same way, the movements of every single visitor within the network affects the movements of others, a symbol of how individual choices affect the experiences of others.

Based on the concept "Feeding the World with Solutions" in a total site of 4,133 square meters, Brazil shows visitors all its natural wealth and technology, along with the possibility, being analyzed and developed, of increasing and diversifying food production. Brazil is in fact one of the largest agricultural producers in the world, and while its agro-industrial activities are well-known, what is not so well-known is its technological production capacity. And so Expo Milano 2015 will become the perfect showcase for the Country’s knowledge, both traditional and innovative, to be shared with other Countries of the world at this great event.

Feeding the World with the Brasilian pavilion

Theme: "Feeding the World with Solutions"

The Concept

Brazil is one of the greatest producers in the whole world. Whilst its agro-industrial activity is widely known, its technological capacity is less so.

Brazil’s participation at Expo Milano 2015, with a pavilion measuring 4,133 square meters, is an occasion for showing the world its typical research activities and its models of production and consumption. Its improvements in cultivation, in fact, derive from an adaptation to the various natural, biological, climatic and cultural conditions.

Brazil is interpreting the theme of Expo Milano 2015, Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life, by providing a number of solutions connected to its technological capacity within agriculture contexts and its ability to extend the production of food and its related exports. Another aspect is its capacity for satisfying social demand without damaging biodiversity, which is a fundamental resource for achieving balance throughout the entire planet.

Brazil’s participation at the Expo is based on three key points: technological, underscoring its development and reliability as a potential technology partner that is both innovative and efficient; cultural, highlighting its plurality through a range of typical products, and social, guaranteeing global, healthy food that is accessible to all.
