LANDSCAPE ON A PLATE IS THE CONCEPT
The Republic of Estonia has chosen as concept Landscape on a Plate to interpret the topic of the Universal Exposition Feed the planet. Energy for Life. Three the guidelines to develop the project. First of all diversity and uniqueness of the Estonian natural landscape and its food culture based on fresh and biological ingredients. Then avant-garde in new technologies and in using energy. Finally a manifold character of the historical and cultural heritage of the Country.
NO QUEUE AT THE ENTRANCE
«In our space inside Expo Milan 2015 we will introduce Estonia like a young Country of Northern Europe, rapidly developing, where you can find unspoilt nature, biological foods and expertise both in traditional and the most innovative sectors, including IT development», said the Estonian General Commissioner Ahti Kuningas. «We have mainly structured the pavilion in order that nobody shall queue at the entrance, actually it is opened on three sides to allow everyone to follow their favourite route to discover the expository space», he added.
A GREEN PROJECT
In addition it is a sustainable ‘green’ project, since the wood components, according to the concept, can be later individually or in block disassembled and then used again in Estonia, for instance, to build seesaws in the recreation grounds for children.

Pavilion of Monaco... in Milano
Theme "Excellence and Solidarity – A New Look at Feeding the Planet"
The Concept
The Principality of Monaco has organized its participation at Expo Milan 2015 around the themes of solidarity and sharing, to show how prosperity gained through the centuries can be used as an incentive to promote the values of solidarity, environmental protection and the growth of a green economy.
The exhibition focuses on three main themes, namely: cooperation, with several examples of projects developed to help other countries to achieve the eight Millennium Development Goals of the UN; governance, with support of companies that develop innovation in the food industry and the Monaco Blue Initiative, a think-tank of scientists and industrialists that safeguards protected marine areas; education, proposing stimulating and lively educational policies, such as a joint awareness campaign with the WWF, which has proclaimed the Principality of Monaco the first country "without blue fin tuna."
Its message is one of sustainability, aligned with Monaco’s culinary culture, which successfully brings together the Mediterranean charms of nearby Italy and France, and the ideas of great chefs and popular tradition.
The design of the Pavilion
The exhibition space of the Principality of Monaco, which covers a total area of 1,010 square meters, is a project by Italian architect Enrico Pollini and presents itself as a space that invites visitors in from many different access points, reflecting the opportunities of ecology, recycling and reuse.
A large number of freight containers are used as part of the architecture, to remind us of the role of exchange represented by the Principality of Monaco, and finding opportunities for creative salvage. On the wooden roof, and similar to emergency curtains, is a compound of sphagnum, a light, permeable peat moss that allows the cultivation of Mediterranean crops. There are vertical gardens and a system for collecting rainwater. The interior design, managed by the German agency Facts and Fiction, will draw visitors into a free-flow tour to explore a variety of topics that raise awareness, as proposed by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Oceanographic Institute. At the end of 2015, the structure will be dismantled and sent to an aid project of the Red Cross in Burkina Faso.

Qatar pavilion... Expo 2015 Milano
Theme "Seeding Sustainability Innovative Solutions for Food Sustainability"
The Concept
Qatar is a desert country, made up of long stretches of sand and dunes, whose inhabitants have always sought creative ways to address the challenges of a lack of food and water. For its water supply, the country has invested in the desalination of sea water, while its food supply has relied almost exclusively on imports.
At Expo Milano 2015 Qatar wants to show its commitment to safe, healthy and convenient food. From its greenhouses to the table, from scientific laboratories to sport, the country is committed to seeding sustainability, or to achieve a healthy, safe and convenient, through solutions that are socially, economically and ecologically sustainable. Qatar is committed to building a culture of "healthy living" through the promotion of sports and scientific research for the responsible management of water and precious resources of its land.
The Qatar Pavilion showcases the latest technologies in a holistic, interactive and informative experience: it creates an oasis of innovation, invention, energy, industry and green technologies.

Monaco unveils its Pavilion
Feeding the Planet: that's the theme of Expo Milan 2015. Monaco has chosen to approach this subject from a humanitarian point of view, with a Pavilion of more than 1,000 m2, situated between the Pavilions of Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Architect Enrico Pollini has designed a structure made of containers, with a sloping "green roof." The structure will then be exported to Burkina Faso for use by the Red Cross.

Slovenia preparing for the EXPO Milano 2015 world exhibition
Slovenia will be presented at the EXPO Milano 2015, to which 141 countries from all around the world have applied, with its own exhibition area. SPIRIT Slovenia, Public Agency, will take care of the implementation of the Slovenian appearance in cooperation with various ministries. The main theme will be green, healthy and active Slovenia in connection with tourism and the I Feel Slovenia trademark.
The World Expo has been organized every five years since 1851 when the first such event was hosted in London by Queen Victoria. The EXPO has never been so close to Slovenia, who signed a participation agreement within the framework of an official visit of Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek last year. In the exhibition area, which is one million square meters in size, Slovenia has successfully guaranteed an independent pavilion in an excellent location.
The focus of the first EXPO, entitled `Industry for All Nations` was completely different than today. The new EXPO Milano 2015, which will open its doors on 1 May 2015, has the slogan `Food for the Planet, Energy for Life`. This not only addresses the question of food, but other subthemes as well, such as sustainability, ecology, green innovations and healthy lifestyles. The purpose of the exhibition in Milano is to educate the public and to explore the bridging of problems of the modern world.
Organisers expect around 20 million visitors, 15 million of which will be Italians; in other words, every fourth Italian inhabitant will visit the EXPO in Milan. This is the first such event in Italy since the Winter Olympic Games in Torino in 2006; moreover, it is also a key economic event for Slovenia, since the neighbouring Italy is its second most important partner for export trade. The Italian market is of key importance for Slovenia also from the point of view of tourism, since Italians generated the most arrivals and overnight stays in Slovenia last year.
A result of the importance of EXPO for a country is most clearly visible in the Eiffel Tower that was constructed in Paris in 1889. Even though the inhabitants of Paris initially weren`t excited about the `pile of metal`, they even wanted to demolish it, the tower remained along the Seine and is now considered one of the biggest attractions in the world.

Swiss Pavilion for Expo 2015... the first !
Ever punctual and precise, the Swiss were characteristically first to join Expo 2015, and were first to present a model of their planned construction last May: Confooderatio Helvetica.
The pavilion, built on an area of 4,443 square meters, will consist of 5 towers filled with food products, of which visitors can help themselves to. As the food in the towers deplete, the structure of the towers will be affected, and since the stocks will not be replensihed, it provides a high-impact visualisation of how we consume and the effect it has on others; the more we take, the less others have.
The project, designed by Netwerch GmBH of Brugg, was recognised with an award for “innovative architectural solutions, and impressive interpretation of the theme of the exhibition.”
The space, which is to be located near the Italian pavilion, will also include a courtyard for shops, restaurants and a stage.
Innovative architectural solutions and impressive interpretation of the theme of the exhibition.
