Ecuador pavilion... the project...

Theme "Journey to the Center of Life"

The Concept For the first time, Ecuador participates with its own pavilion at a Universal Exposition, with the commitment and responsibility to show the world the essence of the people of Ecuador, the value of its natural and human resources and its cultural and environmental heritage.

Ecuador’s biodiversity is divided into four regions (Amazon, coastal, Sierra or Andean tract and islands) and together with the country’s diversity of ethnic groups, has resulted in a variety of culinary cultures. In the same country you can enjoy everything from coastal dishes using resources from the sea, to recipes made from Andean grains and to the dishes prepared by the ethnic groups of the Amazon. The chosen theme, "Journey to the Center of Life", celebrates the fact that Ecuador is centrally located on the planet as well as the word “center” referring to the origin, the essence and the beginning of everything.

The title also refers to the “Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Jules Verne. Ecuador wants to pay homage to Darwin’s journey aboard the H.M.S. Beagle to the Galapagos Islands, which the scientist called the "center of creation" and the Islands were critical in the development of his theory on the origins of species. The Pavilion’s design is divided into four themes: the first; A Diverse Country, highlights the different regional landscapes as a core of the country’s identity. The second area; Food as a Social Collective, is richer in content and information, and works to explain what is behind its dishes through a selection of representative products of traditional Ecuadorian food. The third area is entitled, Live Well, (in Quechua Sumak Kawsay) it offers a space for reflection, where the visitor can rest and think about the message just received in an area full of images, sounds and sensations. Finally the fourth area, Amor, is the most fun part of the Pavilion, and will bring a bit of Ecuador to Milan, in the form of a restaurant and a multifunctional space.

Malta at Expo 2015 Milano... the project

Theme "Derived from the Past, Preserved for the Future, Experienced at Expo Milano 2015"

Concept

Malta is an island of aromas and traditions, home to a colorful gastronomy that has captured the essence of the culture and civilization of the three continents that border the Mediterranean. The ancient Greeks called it Melite, from the Greek word "meli," which means honey. Honey, emblematic of the sun caressing the island, nourishing it and symbol of the sweetness of the Maltese people, has been used as an ingredient in many dishes since ancient times. With its participation in the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster, Malta looks to express its commitment to maintaining the culture, traditions and cuisine of the past in order to pass them on to future generations, to be tasted and enjoyed at Expo Milano 2015.

In Malta, there is a native species of bee, which every month, collects pollen from different flowers, producing a variety of honey flavors. Visitors, through digital technologies, can explore the rich variety of Mediterranean produce through the eyes of a hardworking bee. But that’s not all. They can embark on a journey through its delicacies, summer festivals, winter nights, the colors of its cuisine and the surprises of an island that has not lingered in the past.

The Concept
Azerbaijan is strategically located in Caucasia between the North, South, East and West, and is one of Mankind’s oldest cultural sites, a crossroads for history, culture, biology, nature and ecology. Nice logo for Kenya pavilion...

What do you think about it ?

Kenya has undertaken to participate in World Exposition 2015 Milan, Italy, courtesy of a Note Verbale by the Government and a Participation Contract already signed in this respect, in response to invitation by the Italian Government.

Kenya has in the past participated in a number of such events, including Expo 2000 Hannover, Germany; Expo 2005, Aichi, Japan; Expo 2008 Zaragoza, Spain; Expo 2010 Shanghai, China; and Expo 2012 Yeosu, South Korea, just to mention but a few.

The events have been beneficial to Kenya by enabling the country to showcase its trade, investment and tourism opportunities to a large public audience. The last major exposition was held in Shanghai, China in 2010, and attracted about 87 million visitors.

The Export Promotion Council has been the implementing agency for Kenya’s participation in the above events, in collaboration with the Ministry of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism as well as Foreign Affairs and International Trade through Kenyan Missions in these respective countries hosting the expositions.

Qatar pavilion... the Website !

Qatar Participates in the Universal Exposition – Milano Expo 2015 under the emblem: “Seeding Sustainability. Innovative Solutions for Food Security” This slogan goes in line with the main theme of the exposition: “Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life”. This is also highlighted by the design concept of Qatar Pavilion that occupies 2,451 m2 of Expo area.

Strategically located next to the main entrance of the exposition, Qatar Pavilion is designed to reflect the image of the present and the past, showing the great harmony between modernity and genuineness. The pavilion concept was inspired by the genuine past, when the desert environment urged the Qatari man to be up to the challenge in solving such interconnections. Accordingly, the message to be highlighted by Qatar Pavilion is that in spite of the huge arid lands and the problems of agricultural lands and production in Qatar, there are solutions and models to face such challenges, not only for Qatar, but also for the whole world in general.

Qatar’s vision for participation in Expo 2015 is to build a pavilion with unique design and preparation to reflect its history, heritage, shining present and promising future in the field of food. Qatar’s methodology for sustainable development is based on preservation of environment and resources in addition to using technology to realize such an objective. The pavilion also will highlight Qatar’s interest in many topics and issues that attract regional and international interest.

Qatar Pavilion eye-catching design was inspired by “Al Jefeer”, the traditional food basket made of palm tree leaves. This jefeer constitutes a primary part of the Qatari food history, as it was used to keep food and at the times of drought, it was used to store valuable foodstuffs. It is also a symbol of trading and bartering. The basket was really a brilliant idea in the history of Qataris. Jafeer story will be skillfully integrated in Qatar Pavilion events. Designing the pavilion in the shape of a large food basket helps creating a unified idea to link the exhibition concept to all its aspects.

Qatar Pavilion will provide visitors with a unique experience and a joyful journey in its different sections. The visit will start with Qatari generosity and will be supported by an interactive experience and many innovative techniques that serve the exposition objectives and theme. Therefore, we’re looking forward to a wonderful participation in Milano Expo 2015. We would like also to take this chance to invite the whole world to get acquainted with Qatar’s national achievements and initiatives, particularly in the field of food, energy and sustainability. The pavilion will also pinpoint development projects that focus on education, health, sports and culture.
