History - Liege, Belgium... and Expos...
Since a few days, the Belgian pavilion is "online" on the many social networks... wesbite, facebook, twitter, and so...
Belgium must be proud to be one of the countries which have organised the most Expos, in many of its important cities... like Brussels, Antwerpen, Gent, Charleroi, ... and Liege...
In Liege, three important Expos were held... in 1905, 1930 and 1939...
The first in 1905, a World Expo, for the 75th anniversary of Belgium independence.
In 1930 was organized on the occasion of the Belgium centennial anniversary an International Expo, simultaneously with the City of Antwerp.
The latest was another international expo, the "Exposition of Water in 1939", on the Coronmeuse's site.

History - Switzerland at Hemisfair 1968
A land of lakes, mountains and banking surrounded by the rest of Europe, Switzerland is living testimony to HemisFair's theme.
The country represents a working confluence of four separate cultures. In the Swiss pavilion at HemisFair'68 (G 104 next to the main gate in Las Plazas del Mundo), the artist-designer Rene Creux has turned wit into a powerful teacher.
Dominating the interior, for instance, is an immense mechanical bird, wings flapping and wheels cranking as its sole passenger, William Tell, yodels Swiss folk songs and strews alpine flowers over all visitors.
The animated, mechanical man and his winged, mechanical steed both symbolize and spoof Switzerland's acknowledged genius for mechanical precision and technological progress. Other exhibits within the pavilion tell the story of Switzerland as a banking nation, as the home of international organizations and as a participant in man's attempt to make space travel feasible.
The subject of time, of course, threads through the exhibit-beginning even with the facade of the pavilion itself. Embellishing the facade is a kind of medieval merry-go-round clock topped by a figure of Cronos, the mythological Greek monster credited with swallowing the hours to make time pass.
A loudspeaker voice continually reassures the approaching visitor by explaining that the interior of the Swiss pavilion is designed to show how accurate time-keeping can free man from pressures.

History - Malaysia pavilion at the New York 1964 World's Fair !
Malaysia 1964 - Official Guide New York World's Fair - A new country - the 14 Federated States of Malaysia - uses visual devices and taped commentaries on pickup phones to acquaint visitors with its people, government, industry and arts.
In the center of the two-story pavilion, orchids and ferns surround a small lily pond. An exhibit of the Malaysian way of life includes a color diorama of a village. Elsewhere on the ground floor are scale models of a tin mine and the Parliament House in Kuala Lumpur.
The country's industry and commerce are shown on the second floor - including an exhibit on one of its chief products, rubber. Films are shown continuously.
A collection of art works is in the pavilion's restaurant, where waiters offer assorted curries from wagons, and visitors may order such dishes as satay - marinated beef cubes broiled and dipped in spicy peanut sauce.
* Admission: free.
While talking about Restaurant of the pavilion, the Souvenir Guide Book provided many recipes from many countries participating to the Expo of New York... and of course, here's the one from Malaysian pavilion :

El Salvador at Expo 2015 Milano
Theme "Quality and Diversity of Coffee. Sustainable and Competitive Production
The Concept
Farming coffee today in El Salvador means remaining attached to the Country’s values and historic traditions of production and processing and, at the same time, adopting current norms, standards and technologies to achieve greater quality. Coffee remains of strategic importance for this Central American Country in the areas of sustainability, economic, social and environmental impacts. It’s an industry that generates jobs and provides currency through its export.
El Salvador produces coffee from the Arabica species, comprising the three main varieties of Bourbon, Pacas and Pacamara. It exports premium and commercial grade of this product along with those certified organic, sustainable and Just Trade. It is grown in the six mountainous ranges of Cordillera, each imparting a particular aromatic variation of bean: the Alotepec – Metapán variety, noted for a mild sweetness with hints of chocolate, citrus and caramel; the el Balsamo-Quezaltepec variety, with its flavors of honey, caramel and fruit; the Chichontepec variety, which tastes slightly buttery with notes of fruit and chocolate; the Tecapa-Chinameca variety that provides a range of scents from floral to vanilla; and the Cacahuatique, a sweet, medium bodied variety.
In line with the objectives of the Theme Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, El Salvador seeks to raise awareness of the extraordinary quality and variety of the Salvadoran coffee grain. Its participation at the Universal Exposition is a showcase for increasing consumption of the coffee and for sharing data around new industry trends and innovations. Its pavilion in Coffee Cluster features a photo exposition showing an historical view of agriculture in El Salvador - its best practices in cultivation and production, its awards received - and an exhibit of images: “Coffee Plantation Stamps”. Visitors also have the opportunity to take part in “Barista” demonstrations of preparation and tastings of the precious beverage.
